Seeking Applications for the 2021-22 Student Equity Advisory Board

CAS-CIAC is excited to announce the creation of a Student Equity Advisory Board. The SEAB will bring awareness to inequities in Connecticut and collaborate on ways to enhance inclusion in schools for all students. Student members will also develop and implement ideas and action plans to bring back to their respective leagues, schools, and communities.

The CAS-CIAC is seeking applications for the 2021-22 Student Equity Advisory Board (SEAB). The purpose of the SEAB is to bring awareness to inequity in Connecticut and collaborate on ways to enhance inclusion in schools for all students. Student members will also develop and implement ideas and action plans to bring back to their respective leagues, schools, and the communities.

The Student Equity Advisory Board will consist of four students from each league, with each student representing a different school in the league. Student representatives do not have to be student-athletes. Students who are interested in serving on the SEAB must fill out an application and submit it to their athletic director by September 21, 2021.

There will be a total of eight SEAB meetings throughout the school year and students will be expected to present at CAS-CIAC conferences where appropriate. Meetings will be virtual until further notice.
