Connecticut’s Kid Governor 2016 Election Results

Congratulations to Jessica Brocksom of John F. Kennedy School in Milford for being elected as the next Connecticut’s Kid Governor!

Now in its second year, the Connecticut’s Kid Governor (CKG) Program invites each school in the state to enter one 5th grade student candidate into the race for CKG. The top seven candidates are identified and, during the first week of November (election week), hundreds of 5th grade students watch the seven candidates’ campaign videos and vote for the one they think can make the biggest difference. The winner of this year’s election is Jessica Brocksom of John F. Kennedy School in Milford! Jessica will begin serving as the Kid Governor following her inauguration in early 2017. She will be provided the opportunity to take part in CPAN public programs and encourage students across the state to take action on her issue, the humane treatment of animals. Jessica will take over for the first Connecticut’s Kid Governor, Elena Tipton of East Hartford, who won the 2015 CKG Statewide Election with her “Campaign for Kindness.”
