CSDE Issues Certification Alert for Initial and Provisional 092 Holders

CERTIFICATION ALERT:
IF YOU ARE SERVING UNDER AN INITIAL OR PROVISIONAL CERTIFICATE ENDORSED FOR INTERMEDIATE ADMINISTRATION AND SUPERVISION (#092)

In response to recent inquiries to the CSDE Bureau of Educator Standards and Certification, this alert is being sent to CT educators who are currently serving under an initial or provisional level certificate endorsed for Intermediate Administration and Supervision (092).

For issuance of the initial level certificate for Intermediate Administration and Supervision (092), current Connecticut educator certification regulations require completion of at least 18 semester hours of credit beyond the master’s degree. However, in order to advance an 092 certificate to the professional level, an educator must have completed at least 30 semester hours of credit beyond the master’s degree (which may include credits earned to obtain the initial level certificate).

If you serve all 8 years of the provisional level certificate in a 12-month administrative position, there is no extension or renewal of the provisional level certificate available. Therefore, if you have not already earned at least 30 semester hours of credit beyond your master’s degree, you must do so by the expiration date on your provisional level 092 certificate.

If you have questions regarding maintaining or advancing your 092 certification, please contact the Bureau of Educator Standards and Certification by email at teacherdotcertatctdotgov or on the public phone line at (860) 713-6969 on M, T, TH or F between 12 and 4 p.m.
