Neag Launches New Principal Training Program in Hartford
The Hartford school system and UConn’s Neag School of Education are partners in a program that will train Hartford teachers to become school principals.
The Preparing Leaders for Urban Schools initiative was designed for Hartford, which has sought to offset principal turnover and develop a homegrown pipeline of talent that will be committed to staying in the city.
The first nine-member cohort, recruited from city schools and the district’s central office, began UConn classes in August and could step into school leadership roles after finishing their two-year studies in July 2015, district and university officials said. [More]
