CT Students Remain Strong On International Test

Connecticut students remain on par or are outpacing many of their peers globally in areas of math, science and reading, according to a new assessment conducted by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Still, the results also show that U.S. student scores have not measurably improved in recent years.

The Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) measures the performance of 15-year-olds in math, science and reading. The test, first implemented in 2000, now evaluates 65 different education systems around the world to determine if students are being prepared for the challenges of life as young adults.
