Jodi Kryzanski Named 2026 Outstanding Leadership Award Recipient

The Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) has named Jodi Kryzanski, Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment for Avon Public Schools, as the recipient of the 2026 Outstanding Leadership Award. The award recognizes an educator serving in a leadership position requiring an 092 certificate who demonstrates excellence in instructional leadership, innovation, vision, organizational effectiveness, and the ability to improve outcomes for students and schools.

As Avon’s Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, Jodi has played a pivotal role in advancing the district’s Blueprint for Excellence and Portrait of the Graduate. Her leadership has strengthened the alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices across all grade levels while supporting high-quality learning opportunities for students and educators.

Over the past three years, Jodi has led districtwide efforts to strengthen literacy and mathematics instruction, expand the use of data-informed decision making, oversee curriculum initiatives, and secure resources that support teaching and learning. Colleagues credit her strategic vision, attention to detail, and unwavering focus on student success as key drivers of the district’s continued growth.

“Jodi Kryzanski is more than an administrator; she is a dedicated and visionary strategist who understands that the ‘central office’ exists to support and guide the daily classroom experience,” wrote Avon Middle School Principal Kristina Wallace and Pine Grove School Principal Amy Borio in their nomination. “…Jodi has been a presence throughout the district to support the educators at the ‘ground level’ executing the daily teaching and learning with our students.”

This recognition reflects Jodi’s commitment to supporting educators, improving outcomes for students, and advancing excellence throughout Avon Public Schools.
