Attention Student Council, Honor Society, and Club Advisors at all levels – registration is open for the annual Fall Advisor’s Conference on November 1st.
The keynote speaker is Attorney Julie Fay from Shipman and Goodwin LLC, an expert on matters pertaining to school organizations, student and parent rights, and legal issues pertaining to student organizations. The breakout sessions will be conducted by Don Gates, Executive Director of CT National Honor Society Chapters and Jenn Buckley, Executive Director of CT Student Council Advisors.
Student Activity Directors and Advisors play a critical role in the development of a positive school climate and culture. Whatever the desired educational, social, or emotional outcomes student activities are the common denominators that drive upscale student achievement. Capable class, club, honor society, and government advisors all know that participation in student activities increases test scores, graduation rates, college acceptance, and a more general positive satisfaction for the overall school experience. That is precisely why the CAS Fall Advisors Conference will shine a spotlight upon the role that advisors play in our schools.
The conference will feature time to connect with colleagues and “swap best practices”, acquire the latest information on statewide initiatives, as well as acquiring everything you’d ever need to know about the legal matters pertaining to student organizations.
The day will begin with a continental breakfast at 8:00 followed by the keynote address by Attorney Julie Fay. After time for questions / answers there will be two breakout sessions conducted by our state executive student council and honor society directors. The day will end at 12 noon.
Registration is $30 per person and the deadline to register is October 29th, if space is available.
