Interested in Boosting Student Interest in S.T.E.M. Subjects?
Here’s a chance to inspire your student’s interest and participation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics – sign up for the Robotics Workshop on October 9th from 3:45 – 5:45PM.
CSAC will sponsor a state robotics championship this spring and the October workshop will give you all the information you need to get started. See the Robotics Teams from Shelton and Brookfield High Schools in action on October 9th!
The Connecticut Student Activities Conference is pleased to partner with CT First and offer this workshop for all interested high schools. Representatives from CT First Robotics Competition, Shelton High School, and Brookfield High School will show you how to discover the rewards and excitement of robotics competition. First Robotics Competition challenges high school students – working with professional adult mentors – to design and build a robot within a six week period. The competitions reward the effectiveness of each robot, the power of team strategy and collaboration, and the determination of our students.
You’ll see the Shelton and Brookfield robots in action!
The workshop will explore answers to the following questions and much more:
- What is CT First Robotics?
- How can schools get involved in robotics?
- What are the benefits of a robotics competition?
- How do students and mentors work together to build a robot?
- How much science, technology, and mathematics expertise is required of my students?
- What do students win? What are the competition rules and regulations?
- When does the competition begin . . .end?
