State Pushing Forward on New Teacher Evaluation Process
By the end of October, all 1,600 teachers in New Haven will know what their students need to learn to help them get a good job performance review.
It is the third year that New Haven has evaluated teachers, in part, on goals they set for students in consultation with their principals. As Connecticut this year pilots a new teacher evaluation model in 10 districts — including Bridgeport and Norwalk — it can look to New Haven to see what works and what doesn’t.
