BBB Warning: Schools Urged to Watch Out for Fake Invoices

Courtesy of the State Department of Education

“Scholastic School Supply” has been sending fake invoices (see attachments) to schools all across Connecticut seeking payment for books which were never ordered nor were they ever delivered. The company then tries to follow up on the unpaid invoices. Recipients who receive an invoice should ignore or send a courtesy copy to dcpdotfraudsatctdotgov  (dcpdotfraudsatctdotgov)  .

If any school or district has already received invoices and has sent money, you should email the invoice and copy of the payment to the DCP Fraud Division (same email address as above).

This company is listed on the BBB website as having numerous complaints from multiple states across the country.

So far one complaint has been received from one school district; happily they did not send any money.  Invoices were sent to at least three schools in that district.
