General Information
The Connecticut Association of Schools welcomes applications from member elementary and middle schools for “exemplary school climate practices” status.

While described in many different ways, climate is in fact embedded in almost all aspects of school life and it has long been known that positive climate is critical to achieving success for all students. Any CAS elementary or middle school seeking recognition for its exemplary school climate practices is invited to download and complete the self-assessment instrument.

Schools that meet the initial requirements, as determined by paper screening, will receive a site visit to verify and validate the assessment. Schools found to have exemplary school climate practices will be awarded a CAS Certificate, a three-year exemplary practices designation and recognition on the CAS website.

Award winners are asked to accommodate inquiries and visitors from other schools looking to improve their school climate.
